Love all these strategies and they apply to more than just travel planning. I need that book!

It's a good one. It has so many more strategies - especially in terms of design - than I mentioned in the post.

Just added that book to my reading list. Have you read Do Nothing: How to Break Away from Overworking, Overdoing, and Underliving by Celeste Headlee? I am reading it now and I think the two would pair well together. I'm about 2/3 of the way through and it has really made me question what I want to do next. I thought I had passed the existential crisis phase, but I'm back in it. Just about to get into the part of the book that turns from point out the problems to suggestions and solutions.

I have not read Do Nothing, but added it to my library list. Thanks for the recommendation. There are certainly a lot of ups and downs as we switch gears, and sorry to hear that you are experiencing another dip. For me, it has been interesting to discover that writing more than about an hour a day has been a struggle. I've decided to give myself until the end of the summer to find a new groove.

I like the subtracting idea-could have used that last October when I planned the family Germany trip!
